An Intimate Evening with Canadian Folk Legend VALDY

Valdy, (born Valdemar Horsdal in Ottawa) has been part of the fabric of Canadian pop and folk music for half a century. He is well known for 'Play Me a Rock ‘n’ Roll Song' but has also delighted audiences everywhere performing classics such as 'Peter & Lou', 'Yes I Can', 'Renaissance', 'Sonny’s Dream' and many more.

Valdy will once again bring his talent and charm to all three Maritime Provinces this fall including a performance Friday, September 20th at the beautiful Riverview Arts Centre in Riverview, N.B. Out of respect for the Becca Schofield (hashtag #BeccaToldMeTo) event being held at the RAC the following day, $2.00 from each ticket sold will be donated to the 'Becca' cause. In addition, Valdy will provide an autographed acoustic guitar to be used for raising funds in Becca’s memory.

3rd Annual Becca Day of Kindness

On Feb. 9th, 2015 Becca’s world changed forever. A brain tumor was found and was immediately removed in a 7 ½ hour surgery. The decisions she made in the first few days of her journey with Cancer affected how she lived her dash. She decided to look for the positive every day, to focus on what she could control and let go of what she couldn’t and to find joy in the moments. When in Dec. 2016 after months of chemotherapy and radiation and thinking there was a light at the end of the tunnel. She received devastating news 2 new inoperable tumors were found, she was given 3 to 12 months to live. Her attitude did not change, she wanted to live what time she had left the happiest she could. This is when the #BeccaToldMeTo and her campaign of kindness began.

Join us and a number of artists at a special event to honour the 3rd Annual Becca Schofield Day of Kindness! FREE will offering to the Rebecca Schofield Foundation. We ask that you reserve your FREE tickets in advance through the normal channels for obtaining tickets.

Double Feature Comedy Night A Hazy Grape & RAC Presentation

Hazy Grape Theatre Collective & Riverview Arts Centre co-present two award-winning 1-Act comedies, directed by Michael McArdle.

A Four Act Play in 40 Minutes...or 43 with Laughs. The Terrible False Deception is a Canadian comedy gem that packs more ideas and laughs than most plays triple its length. This hilarious farce, by playwright Rafe MacPherson, showcases four 10 minute acts wherein the same four period-costumed actors repeat identical blocking and emotion but tell zealously different stories — each one as zany as the previous. Morphing from Anton Chekov drama to Brooklyn-esque drag queen antics, this clever piece of theatre expertly experiments in questioning what theatre is.

Show dates are October 3-5 & 12-13
