Classic Albums Live Presents: Queen A Night at the Opera

Classic Albums Live presents skilled musicians who recreate the greatest albums of the 60’s and 70’s live on stage – note-for-note, cut-for-cut.

Don’t look for costumes and look-alike theatrics at theses rocks recitals, just pure musicianship and songs that shaped a generation. 

Released in 1975, A Night at the Opera is Queen’s fourth studio album. This record features a variety of styles, including ballads, music hall style songs. hard rock tracks and progressive rock influences. 

A night at the Opera includes hit singles like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘You’re My Best Friend.’ It sold more than six million copies worldwide and is widely considered by music critics to be one of the greatest albums of all time.

DIYET and the Love Soldiers

Diyet and the Love Soldiers are coming to the Riverview Arts Centre on Saturday, April 13th! Diyet and the Love Soldiers is Alternative Folk, Roots, Country and Traditional Aboriginal with melodies and stories deeply rooted in her Indigenous worldview and northern life. She has toured both Canada and Europe and has released two acclaimed albums, The Breaking Point and When You Were King, with a third album released in June 2018. 

Come join us as Diyet embodies her Southern Tutchone, Japanese, Tlingit and Scottish roots to provide a musical presence that is equally diverse and unique.

The “Leahy sound” – a combination of strong stride piano, unique bass guitar and drumming styles along with driving rhythm guitar – was the foundation from which wildly talented fiddle led instrumentals and vocals were launched to mainstream music listeners. Super Fiddle Show 2019

Since the first show in May, 1989, this annual event has proven to be a favourite with fiddling fans. This year will be a most interesting and entertaining program featuring one of Canada’s elite fiddlers and 3 time Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Champion and recording artist, Patti Kusturok, along with her incredible and multi-talented accompanist Jeremy Rusu from Manitoba. Other guests include Tipsy 3 (Jocelyne Bourque, Susie LeMay & Kimberly Holmes), Sussex Ave Fiddlers, Crystal Jones, Stacey Read, Joanne Newman, Floyd Spicer, Ivan and Vivian Hicks and more. Get your tickets early and be present to enjoy this evening of music, nostalgia and fun. Proceeds to Riverview High School Safe Grad Program.

We are a non-for-profit organization located inside Riverview High School. Our Royal Theatre is driven by our community, board of directors, staff, and volunteers.
